Missed Lesson and Class Policies

Make up Lesson for Music Program

  • Students are charged for all lessons and classes for which they register including those missed through student absence. Notification of inability to attend a private lesson or class does not excuse for the lesson or class.
  • Regular attendance is expected of all students. A student should notify the teacher or S.P.A.C.E. office at least 24 hours before concerning any absence that might occur for any reason.
  • Faculty are not required to make up lessons or classes missed due to student absences.
  • End of each semester (Fall and Winter/Spring) S.P.A.C.E. organizes a make up lesson week. There is only one make up lesson for each student. Students should arrive to school their regular lesson time unless given a different time slot by  instructor.  If a student missed more than 3 lessons each following week, instructor  considers giving  one extra make-up lesson only if sufficient notice is given. There is no make-ups for classes missed by students for Music Program.
  • If an instructor cancels a lessons or class, a make-up is offered. Make-up lessons canceled by the student is not offered again.
  • Students who are late for a lesson can not be guaranteed their full lesson time.
  • Faculty who are tardy for a student's lessons are required to make up the time by extending past the schedule lesson time, or by arranging to make up that time on another occasion.
  • Scholar students should apply the scholarship program policy.

Dance Program

Dance students are not required to notify the office in case of any absence unless students registered for private dance lessons. Students should notify the office before they plan to take make ups.  Dance classes must be made up with in the session.

S.P.A.C.E. reserves the right to cancel classes.   

*Students,who are registered for private lessons are required to take solfege/theory or sing & play classes (depending on the age and level) and to attend concerts, shows or productions those are organized by S.P.A.C.E.

Cancellation

Students should call the school or instructor at least 24 hours before to cancel the private lesson. After 24 hours make up lesson will not be offered. (No exception)
